 About

Jemima Sara (b.1997) is a multidisciplinary artist who incorporates everyday life and freedom of expression into her practice.

Her practice began as a craft business since then it has expanded to include paintings, sculpture, print, installations, and drawing. Jemima Sara creates site specific interactive artworks for galleries, public spaces and client commissions.

Jemima’s formal training in BA Puppetry at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (graduating in 2018) followed by a MA in Fine Art: Drawing at Camberwell (graduating in 2021) has enriched her drawing, allowing her to merge diaristic texts with the figurative, abstract and performative.

Her practice reflects and reveals struggles of daily life and uses this to ignite conversations as a form of self-therapy or so-called catharsis.

Recently, Jemima Sara is best known for her work surrounding the toilet which has been described as ‘quintessential to her practice,’ (Stir World), often utilising text and design to serve her concept and enhance visitor interaction. ‘Breaking traditions’ (Stir world), and ‘making meaning from the ‘nitty-gritty’’ (Create Magazine).

Jemima Sara has collaborated and been commissioned by brands such as Anthropologie, Miller Harris, Wolf and Badger, Hill and Friends, Terry De Havilland as well as working with members clubs such as The Albright.
